This is a picture that was taken for a project launched by proHelvetia, swiss foundation, to be part of a book called territoires méditérrannées.

We chose to consider the book as a site, with all its limits and frames, and react to the content as much as the physical boundaries. We picked on the theme of territoriality, the power struggles of co-existence between the countries of the Mediterranean, through an objet trouvé, the tray.

The tray in itself expresses the dialectics of power between the one offering and the one receiving. The series of images you are now seeing, represent the relationship of false equality between two parties, the absurdity of the situation in which we find ourselves facing each other, the situation when we turn our backs to each other instead of communicating , when we pretend to be sharing, hypocritically, and finally, total absence of effort to communicate.
