in 2014 on a Tuesday afternoon,  we arrived to Roccagloriosa after 12 hours of travelling to be swamped by a procession: St Giovanni’s procession.

Every household along the path will put out their table with their sacred icons on it to be blessed by the priest and St Giovanni’s status leading the procession. All table are covered with a hand made crochet tablecloth or made in china ones, it does not matter …what matter is for it to be blessed.

We definitely had in mind to collect an object from every household but we never really encountered for it to be a “sacred” table with its cover.

Roccagloriosa embraced us with its procession and we chose to emphasize their believes by collecting the table and putting them one on top of the other creating a vertical procession, a bell tower, in a court yard of an old castle, with very little means, marking their direct link to the sky.

The inhabitants embraced the installation as we were embraced by their procession.
